It accomplishes this using cross lines that are etched into its surface. The brighter the light source is, the more pronounced the effect will be. By rotating the filter, the direction of the star effect may be changed.
SmallRig built this filter using Schott B270i HD glass that protects against water, stains, mildew, and scratches. The filter also features anti-reflective and multi-layer coatings and a CNC-machined frame that eliminates vignetting.
